Shearing’s Coach Holidays
Enhancing Cleanliness Standards
CASE STUDY
Shearing’s coach holidays.
The challenge: The client faced significant cleaning issues at their busy coach interchange station in Cheshire, accommodating many customers and coaches. The station included 88 toilets and 32 urinals spread across six blocks, a café area, and a waiting room with seating for over 600 people. Despite serving 3,000 customers daily, the cleaning arrangements were inadequate, leading to numerous complaints, especially regarding the cleanliness of the toilet floors.
PREMiClean was brought in to address these issues in 2011. Our initial focus was on the toilet floors, which had become heavily soiled over the years despite being made of light grey unglazed porcelain tiles. We restored them using a chemical-free process involving water, TWISTER HTC DIAMOND SCRUBBING pads, and high-speed floor scrubbing machines. This meticulous process took several weeks to complete, akin to peeling an onion layer by layer.
Having restored the floors, we implemented a comprehensive cleaning regimen to prevent them from deteriorating again. This included a structured cleaning program for the toilet blocks after each day’s trading, regular vacuuming of the waiting areas, annual cleaning of all upholstered chairs and carpets, and bi-weekly cleaning of the offices.
Most importantly, we ensured that our cleaning standards were audited weekly to maintain consistency and quality. We managed the coach interchange for Shearings until 2020 when the global pandemic forced the company into administration.
Despite the change in the use of the building, we continue to provide cleaning services for the premises.
